THE WEEKLY LIST May 3 - MAY 9 (2021)
Tee Grizzley ft. Big Sean - What We On: Detroit royalty on this one! Featured on Tee Grizzley's new album "Built For Whatever" Grizz switched it up on this one and made something for the bitties. TG assures a young lady he's courting that he's not rushing to beat cheeks. He also asks if she likes to eat. Presumably, because he likes eating and offers to buy her a meal, his treat. He also plans to gift her a gun (in her name) but informs her that he'll be the one shooting it (presumably because he's a gentleman.) Big Sean asks his lady to never lie or be sneaky because those are deal breakers for him. He also acts a positive influence in her life by encouraging her to start a business. Check out these other tracks from "Built For Whatever":

E-40 educates about about his global citizenship, "The Earth is my turf, I'm not a tourist" and makes sure we know that he's had major money since the Paleolithic period. Young Gerald prefers a woman who's a good girl in real life but a freak on the app (the app he's referring to is probably Christian Mingle). Check out these other Tough Tunes from "TY4FWM":

DaBaby makes it clear that he's rocking Amiri jeans and they are not Levi's. He also warns the opposition that he is an expert marksman, he keeps the heat tucked, and he's quick on the draw so best not test him. Other tunes to check out from "Thank You For Believing":

Don Toliver - What You Need: Jackboys in the building! The Cactus Jack signee comes back from hiatus with this smooth Hit-Boy produced track. DT is a provider and he is of the belief that is in fact NOT trickin' if you got it. He provides cash money, Xannies, Gucci and Chanel. Whatever she needs, Donny provides.
OMB Bloodbath, NoonieVsEverybody, BRS Kash, Westside Boogie & 6lack - LVRN Cypher: The label & management company that's home to platinum-selling songstress Summer Walker also houses a stable full of spittas. OMB starts the party off by chiding people who flex on instagram but in real life don't actually own the things they show off. Noonie next, he lets us know that he's on a mission and he was encouraged to pursue his dreams by his brother, who is currently in the penitentiary. BRS Kash jumps in and speaks about his love for vagina and his abstinence from cocaine. The artist formerly known as Boogie drops the line "Had to alter my thoughts and marry the money, 'cause that shit was getting dated as fuck" I'll let that breathe. WB takes a breath and comes back for another verse (this nigga must be a camel cuz he spittin!) 6lack closes it out with 2 verses of his own, acknowledging that he is in fact gifted, his words heal, he has a beautiful mind and in these dark times when when the world is drifting apart he does his best to be a unifier.
J. Cole - interlude: From his upcoming album "off-Season" Cole World decided to bless us with an appetizer a week early. Over a T-minus beat, he gets into his story-telling bag about lives lost too soon. JC raps "Though traumatized, wouldn't change it for nothing, through hard times, it was there I discovered, a hustle, and making the best out the struggle, I kept grinding 'til this day" He makes an astute observation that Jesus, Pimp C & Nipsey Hussle all left Earth at age 33.
Isaiah Rashad ft. Duke Deuce - Lay Wit Ya: TDE dropped something as promised. Tennessee up and comers Isaiah Rashad & Duke Deuce go in on this Three 6 Mafia-sampled, upbeat bop. Dedicated to the ladies, the fellas describes how their relationships evolved from something casual to something serious. Now they sprung and just wanna cuddle. Duke Deuce had some shit to get off his chest. After fashioning himself a ruthless businessman, "Tough decisions in this rappin' business, ain't no bein' friendly" he sends some subs at "Old niggas turned to enemies, now I'm seeing plenty." By the way he describes his arsenal in other parts of the verse, probably best to stay on his good side.
Scorey - Rock n Roll: Carried by guitar riffs and a hi-hat loop, the NY rapper made a short track where he talks about graduating from The Block but also warns the opps that he will shoot them in self defense if he must.
YG, Mozzy & Blxst - Perfect Timing: "Ay, the timing was perfect, but as humble as I am I kinda deserve it, we done got it out the mud and climbed to the surface, if I'ma take the risks, then it better be worth it." Blxst kills the chorus, then Mozzy hops in and asks one of his bitties to prove her love by getting a tattoo on her breast. YG had to bulletproof his SUV due to the numerous attempts by rivals to take his life. He also has a Rolls-Royce for comfort & privacy and a Lamborghini for speed.

He let's some old work know that she did some foul shit and he won't forget it. "Love powerful, so if you don't mean it, then never say it." Klass Murda handles hook, he talks about his ones that switched up. Che Noir closes it out and she spent the whole verse dropping jewels. "Always act out of logic 'cause emotions could cloud your judgement" #ToughTune
Russ - Small Talk: "Stop playing with a boss like that, I don't re-act well when ya talk like that, put the money on the phone then call right back, I don't really wanna do the small talk like that" The indie assassin goes in on the haters. He's been getting bread and getting head and he don't got time for these two-faced social climbers all in his grillmix trying to get a taste. They got Russ fucked up.
Rah Swish - Woo At It Again: NY Drill Shit! Sampling Jay-Z's 1999 hit single "Do It Again" the Brooklyn MC (Rah Swish that is) describes a night out on the town. First he calls his friends to carefully plan the evening, then, he meets up with his opp's boo, probably to get his meat sucked. With his nuts drained he hits the studio to make Tough Tunes like this one. Next, he's making some moves, which could mean traveling or making money in many different ways. He then meets up with his aforementioned friends at a club (maybe a gentleman's club) for a little fun. By this time he's famished, so he hits the diner with some promiscuous women who will do things his boo thang may not be into. He then hit up his main damie because like any Woo he makes sure home's good. By midnight, he's ready to do it again or should I say Woo It Again (I'll see myself out).
Childish Major - Disrespectful: It's the whistle for me! Fire beat. The Atlanta rapper gives good advice to his listeners "Put the guns down it's kids around".
