•The Hit List #5: (May 24 - May 30)
Gucci Mane & BigWalkDog - Poppin: Brick Squad! Presumed to be from his upcoming album "Ice Daddy" Big Guwop introduces the world to his newest 1017 signee, BigWalkDog. Over one of my favorite beats this year, these southern gentlemen talk that talk. BWD starts off, letting us know that since he poppin he always carrying around that rocket (not a literal rocket probably a gun of some sort). Also, because of this wealth his significant other puts more effort into the fellatio she gives him. She knows he doesn't accept anything less than the best. He also enjoys to pop the occasional Perc and sip a little lean for recreational purposes. Gucci comes on and annihilates the beat. He makes it clear that if you ain't got no confirmed kills, you can't relate. And stop calling him "twin".
DMX ft. Snoop Dogg - Take Control: DMX, Snoop, and Marvin Gaye? ARE FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW SAMSON! Off his posthumously released album "Exodus" this the track for the ladies. Sampling "Sexual Healing" X asks his girl to "wake up, wake up" 'cause he got something for her and "he need some lovin." He understands women come and women go and that sometimes it's best to just say what your shorty wants to hear to keep peace in the household. Snoop up at bat next. He just wanna slide in, beat it up, then slide out and get back to the ocean. DMX delivers the D mad aggressively in the 3rd verse, "Gorilla fuck that ass, leave the pussy sloppy." Also check out these other tracks from "Exodus":
That's My Dog ft. The LOX & Swizz Beatz
Dogs Out ft. Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz
Bath Salts ft. Jay-Z & Nas
Hood Blues ft. Westside Gunn, Benny the Butcher & Conway
Hold Me Down ft. Alicia Keys
Letter to my Son (Call Your Father) ft. Usher & Brian King Joseph
EarthGang - Aretha: With their album "Ghetto Gods" set to drop soon the Dreamville duo blessed us with the this top shelf track. Johnny Venus expresses disappointment over the performance of their last single, but he learns from the disappointment "Failure, that's artist development". JV also speaks up for those profiting off of the growing, multi-billion dollar cannabis industry while Black Americans, who have been disproportionately incarcerated for marijuana offenses, haven't exactly been granted the opportunities to participate in the business by and large, nor freed from decades-long prison sentences for that tree. Real King Shit. Doctor Dot's only concern is his legacy. He "just a fan of simplicity." He has his sights on bigger moves and finds room to throw a shot at the bowl-cut having, mass shooter Dylann Roof.
Juice Wrld ft. Lil Uzi Vert Lucid Dreams (Remix): The Juice is loose! This track dropped on the Anniversary Edition of his album "Goodbye and Good Riddance" 3 years after it was released, two tracks were added to the album (the new edition is a Deluxe of sorts.) Lil Uzi fits seamlessly into this Sting-sampled song about love lost. Vert had his heart broke by a young lady "She said that she love me, but she sucked that boy up" Damn Fam... He gave shawty his heart and she sucked up the whole hood. It don't matter because he up now, and his new bae hold him down like an anchor.
OhGeesy ft. DaBaby - Get Fly: Shoreline Mafia rapper, OhGheesy, dropped a gem with the biggest Rockstars in the game. OG has lots of women, and unlike us, he doesn't kiss them on the mouth because he's a player. He also has lots of money, lots of lean promethazine cough sizzurp, and lots of firearms, some as high tech as the ones James Bond has. And if you try him, he swears to God that he will use those firearms to defend himself from bodily harm. Another rapper who knows about self-defense, DaBaby, kill his verse. DaBaby too, has many ladies and they gobble him up like Ms. Pacman. He asks if she'd like an encore of the amazing sex they just had. He tells her he knows she had her butt done, he just wants to see how it feel and he treats it like it's real. He's a gentleman.
Culture Jam ft. NBA Youngboy & Rod Wave - Everything Different: Two-time NBA Champion and two-time Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard dipping his toes into Music. I don't think he's rapping but he's curating a compilation called "Culture Jam" and this is the first track. Featuring two of the hottest youngins in the game this one is a certified slap. YB croons about his come up. He got diamonds now, a new whip, and he handles all his business affairs himself. He never panics and he ain't worried bout nothin' 'cause he got money now. On the chorus he touches on the Judas-ass niggas in his life "Crossed by the ones I love, I don't know who I can trust, We confident they don't know about us, they only know who we was. Now everything different, exotic cars, exotic bitches, I come straight up out them trenches, everybody 'round me stars, million plus inside my bank, so every night I'm thanking God." Rod Wave gets into his hood emo bag, per usual (and his flow fits perfectly with this beat). He talks about tellin his peoples he fine, but he really scarred on the inside. He contemplates suicide with a unique bar I've never heard before "Been a bumpy ride, been thinkin bout puttin the car in park" He also talks about a homie he tried to help out but the homie took his kindness for weakness so he cut him off. He got in his bag and out his feelings. Rod is focused on big business.
Cochise ft. $NOT - Tell Em: If Cole Bennett directs the video, you KNOW it's a banger! Cochise may sound a lil like Playboi Carti and Mario Judah but the Florida artist carved out his own lane. On this one, he just wanna know what the move is. "What we doin?" His shawty was actin up so he smashed her friend like on the seminal Hip-Hop smash hit "Rapper's Delight." Fellow Florida Man, $NOT (who has a fire record with Lil Skies), hops on and boasts about turning a profit on every move he makes because he's a savvy investor. Some niggas he know be gossiping about him, so he invites them outside to the mosh pit so he can mosh they mark ass out.
Blxst & Bino Rideaux - Movie: B & B as they're known in Cali blessed up with a smooth bop for the ladies. Bino tells his shawty that she the realest and she need to stop fuckin with them goofies. He's also skilled at beating cheeks in the morning and in the evening. Sometimes he fucks for 24 hours straight without busting one nut. Blxst confesses to wearing his heart on his sleeve (most dudes wouldn't admit that, salute) and he realizes that he has to be patient with relationships. Both of these gentleman own up to being tough to deal with it but they want to make movie with their main damies (probably one pornagraphic in nature but a classy, tasteful one).
