The Hit List week 100: (March 20 - March 26)
Slatt Zy - First Day Out: Shout out to Slatt Zy. I’ve had his track “Drama” in the Serrato since it came out. It seems like he found himself in some legal trouble (and facing 75 years according to the track). He beat the charges and uses this track to celebrate his victory and put down everybody who threw smut on his name while he was going through it.
JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - God Loves You: Peggy & Danny dropped their collab album “SCARING THE HOES” this week and they both put their stamp on it. It’s experimental, trippy, a lil Rock & Roll, a lil Soul, everything they are individually as artists magnified on these 14 tracks. My favorite track is “God Loves You” and as a Church Kid, the Gospel Vibes really do it for me (Peggy really shines on these type of beats). Check out “SCARING THE HOES” no skips.
JuiceWrld - The Light: Shoutout to JuiceWrld. It’s been over 3 years since his tragic passing and he’s still got music coming out. And not just any music, really really great music. “The Light” falls into that category. It has a Pop feel and JW talks about some of his favorite subjects: death, drugs, the darkness, and The Light. He talks about relationships and when it’s dark outside, that special someone is always The Light.
Desiigner & A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - PMR: Pussy.Money.Respect. That’s what these two New Yorkers are promoting on this track. Beat crazy, both Desiigner and A Boogie use a start/stop flow to match the beat. The good thing about getting Money is that if you get it in abundance, the Pussy & Respect will follow naturally (unless you’re an absolute dickhead then the Respect might not come but you’ll still be able to get the buns).
03 Greedo - Steady Poppin: When 03 dropped “Bacc Like I Never Left” last week I could smell an album coming and not even a week later, we got it! “Halfway There” is 33 tracks of straight crack. He had a lot of time to write while he was locked down so it makes sense his first solo project back would have a ton of music on it. The name references that he isn’t totally out the woods yet, I believe he’s staying in a halfway house right now. I like all of his music, the hard hitting slaps and the melodic tracks. On this album there’s a pocket in the middle where it’s a bunch of melodic, lovey-dovey tracks and those are the ones I fucked with the most (including “Steady Poppin”). Go give “Halfway There” a listen and don’t miss these highlights:
Bacc Like I Never Left
Dada (ft. Babyface Ray)
Coi Leray Diamonds (ft. Ty Dolla $ign)
Freaks
Day Shift
2 Percs
1 Drink 2 Many
Spend Time

NLE Choppa & Lil Wayne - AIN’T GONNA ANSWER: Memphis & Louisiana on this one. NLE recently made headlines when a Powerade commercial he was supposed to be featured in for March Madness was scrapped due to Ja Morant’s recent suspension and bad publicity. It was an example of how one’s actions can affect others. He didn’t let that stop him from dropping this absolute banger with Weezy F. It has a New Orleans Bounce-type beat. They rap about their favorite bitties. Them other dudes might call, but she Ain’t Gonna Answer. Bump this in the ride with the sunroof open, shit knocks.
Rob49 & Da Baby - Hate It or Love It: New Orleans native Rob49 was in the headlines for a shooting at a music video with French Montana that left him and 9 others shot. The snippet of this new song “Hate It or Love It” went viral this week as some say DaBaby’s making a comeback from his “cancellation”. Track is hard, as Rob & Baby go back and forth with the bars, no hook required.
ZAYEL & NBA Youngboy - Members Only: This is my first time hearing Zayel and he really impressed on this smooth track with a snap beat. Zay knows bad bitties love rich niggas and real niggas. YB used to roll around in stolen cars, now he up millions. He just trying to be a good dad and dodge one time.
Hit-Boy & Nas - The Tide: Hit-Boy dropped his new project this week called “SURF OR DROWN”. Super Dope project, many of the tracks were released over the past year with some fresh joints too like “The Tide” with his fellow Grammy winner Nasty Nas. He also included the Instrumentals to all the songs at the end just in case artists wanna lay some bars over his top shelf production.
IDK ft. Rich The Kid - 850 (We On Top): IDK is in his own lane. He dropped 2 albums in the span of a year and now he’s been dropping fire loosies (usually with visuals) whenever he feels like it. On this one he talks about where he came from (robbin) to where he is now, rich like The Kid. RTK fell asleep in the trap and woke up in Paris. (Rich has a few bars in the middle but the track is mostly IDK going crazy for 4 minutes).
Quando Rondo - From The Bottom: Quando Rondo dropped a new album this week called “Recovery”. After watching his homie die and wanting to give up the street life, he decided to pour his pain into the music. My favorite track is “From The Bottom” an uptempo track in which QR raps about rising From The Bottom. He’s come a long way and he did it with the bros. The grind made his heart cold but he still makes time for his favorite bitties. Check out “Recovery” and these standouts:
Blame
Tear It Down
Counting Bands
Forever 16
Lord Give Me A Sign (ft. NBA Youngboy)
Lloyd Banks ft. Method Man - 101 Razors: A lil Boom Bap for your headtop. 2 of NY’s Finest from 2 different generations linked for a lyrical onslaught. Banks kicks it off and lets it be known that in the streets, it’s hunting & gathering, you eat what you kill. He had too many days chopped cheesing and now it’s filet mignon for no reason. Meth calls out the boring spitters and knows there are some in the streets that want him dead. He knows, ain’t know bargaining with the streets and that’s why he stays on the grind.
6LACK - Decatur: 6LACK’s new album “Since I Have A Lover” dropped this week. I liked that it had quite a few different sounds throughout. There’s something on there for everyone. I love the Don Toliver collab “Temporary”. “Preach” is also one of my favorites. My absolute favorite is “Decatur” which has one of the best beats on the album. 6LACK vows to love his shawty for better or for worse. They can travel around the world or just cruise around Decatur. He lets us know that if we see his shawty out, we can look but we better not touch or he’s coming for blood. Check out “Since I Have a Lover” and these highlights:

Kari Faux & Big K.R.I.T - Turning Heads: Kari Faux’s “Chattin Shit” is one of my favorite tracks of the last 10 years and I was geeked when I saw she had a collab track with King KRIT. “Turning Heads” is a funky bop. Bass guitar sets the mood as KF lets it be known that she goes hard in the paint and the fruits of her labor got everybody Turning they Heads. BK be Turning Heads like a chiropractor. He crawls down the boulevard in his candy paint drop top ol skool whip with the trunk rattling. Great track to cruise to (especially if you turn heads).
Kota The Friend & Statik Selektah - Go Brooklyn: Kota & Statik Selektah? A Whole Project? Yes, please! These gents dropped their collab project “To See A Sunset”. It’s a special project. Kota talks about being a father, overcoming adversity, real shit. My favorite track is “One Life” which was dropped in the lead up to the project. My favorite album cut is “Go Brooklyn” where KTF bigs up his hometown (borough specifically). Everybody where he’s from gets it from the bottom up. The Devil always tries to stick his hooks in, but Brooklynites know how to shake him off like Mariah. Go Brooklyn! Other standouts from “To See A Sunset”:
Real Ones
One Life
Eye See U
Thank You
ICECOLDBISHOP - TIL THE END: LA spitter ICECOLDBISHOP dropped a new album this week called “GENERATIONAL CURSE”. My favorite track is “TIL THE END” which has a funky West Coast Bounce as ICB pays homage to his dead homies and calls for new modern leaders to carry the torch of MLK. He’s been drinking & smoking but he’s gonna keep moving forward. He knows he can count on his Day 1’s and he’s gonna ride with them and slide with them TIL THE END.
Big Boss Vette - Problem: Another week, another great find on the Apple Music New Hip Hop playlist! When this one came on in the whip, my head started bopping immediately. I picked up the phone to see “Who is this?” It was St. Louis’ own Big Boss Vette. She just had a smash with “Pretty Girls Walk” and now she’s back with “Problem”. Hard hitting Bass as BBV lets it be known that she’s a Problem. She ain’t beefin on the net (she keeps all her beef offline). Get the fuck up out her face with that soft shit. This one’s gonna go crazy in the club.
Hunxho - Looking For Love: Hip-Hop's new king of auto-tune dropped a new project this week called “22” (which he looks to have tattooed on his eyelids).. I’ve still got his track “Heartless” in heavy rotation and the new track “Uh-Huh” with Tee Grizzley goes all the way up. My favorite track from “22” is “Looking For Love”. Hunxho vents about the bitties that pretend to love him but really don’t. He don’t want that fake love, he’s Looking For that real Love.
Mike Dimes ft. Dro Kenji - KISS N’ TELL: Texas’ own Mike Dimes dropped a new loosie with Dro Kenji and this may be the song I’ve listened to the most this week. The horns give it a triumphant feel, Mike is working to get richer while rolling with his team and smoking hella trees. He’ll smash a bitty then disappear. He never kisses & tells. Dro Kenji obviously loves to blaze and smokes he til he can’t breathe. He’ll fuck a fan but he loves his money more than anything.
Rucci, Bankroll Got-It & O.T. Genasis - We Like Pussy: Rucci & Bankroll Got-It dropped a collab project this week called “Notorious”. Dope project, my favorite track is the Kalan Fr.Fr track “Up 2 U”. I also love the O.T. Genasis collab “We Like Pussy” because I too like pussy. They also sample 2 Live Crew’s “We Want Some Pussy” and you can’t go wrong flipping that track.
Li Rye - Broken Heart: This was another great find on the Apple Music New Hip-Hop playlist. The beat has some 90’s R&B vibes and Li Rye has that New Florida flow that went viral on “Who I Smoke”. He broke one of his ex’s heart but now he trying to make it right. He’s a shooting star and he’s coming for all his respect.
Rory Fresco - Knocked Up: I’m pretty sure Rory Fresco was the artist that went viral when his track “Lowkey” was the next track on autoplay after a Drake song (I think God’s Plan). Anyway, I’ve had that track in the Serrato since I first heard it (and his song "Magic" with Kid Ink) and now he’s back with a new track. “Knocked Up” has one of the best beats on the list. RF ain’t rich yet but he’s gearing up. He got a miracle BJ and he can fuck for hours. He enjoys popping a perc and running up a check. He knocks the bitties down but the opps knock them up because they lack discipline and won’t strap up or pull out.
