The Hit List: Week 14 (July 26 - Aug 1)
Isaiah Rashad ft. Jay Rock & Jay Worthy - True Story: TDE artist Isaiah Rashad dropped his long awaited album “The House is Burning” this week and it’s straight gas. This one’s a funky lil bop with a topshelf feature from fellow TDE spitter Jay Rock, perfect for cruising down the 110 in your 08’ Impala with the sunroof back. Other standout tracks from “The House is Burning”:
From the Garden (ft. Lil Uzi Vert)
RIP Young
Claymore (ft. Smino)
Wat U Sed (ft. Doechii & Kal Banx)
9-3 Freestyle
Score (ft. SZA & 6LACK)
THIB
Mickey Factz - Wraith: Mickey Factz jumped in the Royce, Lupe beef after they both mentioned him on wax. He goes in, pulled no punches, and shot with dead aim. He also said he’s wit the shits and ready to go back and forth. It’s Royce’s move now.
June3rd ft. Rick Ross - Friends: “Still broke if we ain’t all rich” This is one of them ones! Melodic, dedication to the homies. New artist, June3rd, promotes loyalty, making sure everybody eat, and bros b4 heauxs. Ross slays this beat. If you don’t know who June3rd is, you’ll know soon. Check out his project “Jemeni” that dropped this week.
Logic - God Might Judge: “God might judge you, but The Boy won’t” Fresh outta retirement, Young Sinatra comes back and blesses us with some solid gold. He dropped his first album as a dad (and his last album on Def Jam) “Bobby Tarantino III” this week. Whole album heat, this one stuck out as I listened. On the track, he says it's a gym anthem and I agree. 90’s R&B sped up sample, upbeat track for the ladies. “Nice For What” vibes on this one. Check these other tracks from “Bobby Tarantino III”:
Vaccine
Get Up
Inside (ft. Cynthia Erivo)
Flawless
Theme For The People

DUCKWRTH ft. Phabo - 4K: “Who do it better? Who get you wetter?” DUCKWRTH & Phabo of course. This might be the dopest beat on the list, and these gentlemen’s flow is like a match made in music heaven. (Thank you sweet melodic Jesus). “Present me them cheeks!” (Not Jesus, it’s a line from the song) [Note: I tried to look up the lyrics on Genius and it looks like one of the guys posted a message on the page “Just vibe to the song” Real Player Shit!]
Silk Sonic - Skate: The second single of the dynamic duo of Bruno Mars & Anderson Paak. Like their 1st drop “Leave the Door Open” this one is a blast from the past. My mama would love this song. It has a summertime, 70’s feel. The guys are asking the ladies to skate with them. Not like Tony Hawk, more like ATL, Cascade and shit, Roll Bounce, you know the vibes. “Do a lil spin, do it again, sheeit, look like you playing for the win. I’m tryna roll, I’m tryna ride” Ladies, if you see AP or Bruno outside, skate on over to them, slide on over, they wanna get to know ya.
Dave East & Harry Fraud - The Product: The two NY heavyweights dropped a collab project this week titled “HOFFA”. It contains audio clips of Jimmy Hoffa himself and also news reports about his mysterious disappearance. East goes hard throughout the project and despite the grimy gritty bars, it’s one of his most polished efforts. You can tell he took his time and put some elbow grease into this one (Da fuck is elbow grease?). On “The Product” DE switches the flow up a bit. He opts for a speedier delivery to match the Harry Fraud beat and he’s rewarded as a woman he barely knows offers him fellatio! He then proceeds to dick her down so properly that she won’t vacate the premises. He then hits the block, stacks paper then disappears like Hoffa. Some other Tough Tunes from the project:
The Disappearance
Just Another Rapper
Uncle Ric (ft. Benny the Butcher)
Money or Power (ft. Jim Jones)
Count It Up (ft. French Montana)
The Win (ft. Cruch Calhoun)
Yeah I Know (ft. Kiing Shooter)
Ant Clemons ft. Ty Dolla $ign & 2 Chainz - Appreciation: These Black Rockstar sensations spend their money to show appreciation. They don’t post gun pics because that’s incrimination. The smoke tones of marijuana flower and love women with gigantic asses that make it clap like a thunderous applause. Super smooth, if Ciroc was a song, it’d be this song.
Tyga - Mrs. Bubblegum: Shoutout to T Raw mane! His whole career he’s stuck to what he knows best, stayed in his lane and it has paid off handsomely. No shade to anyone who takes a risker approach to their art but this guy knows what he’s good at. He’s like Steph from 3, no need to do a lotta dribbling just stop and pop. With that said, your boy made another strip club, club-club anthem. This time sampling D4L’s smash hit “Laffy Taffy” (RIP Shawty Lo). He got Fabo in the video and doing some of the ad-libs. This shit finna be on the radio and in every jiggle joint from LA to Boston for the rest of 2021.
Young Dolph & Paper Route Empire ft. Big Moochie Grape - Standing Ovation: Love the squad albums! Young Dolph and his clique Paper Route Empire put out a compilation album this week called “Paper Route Illuminati” and I was blasting it all weekend. I kept going back and forth on my favorite track but “Standing Ovation” hits alotta marks for me. I love street motivational records and this is that (Jeezy’s Thug Motivation 101 is one of my favorite albums of all time. Ironically, it also features a track titled “Standing Ovation”). Big Moochie Grape holds it down on this one. With a fast flow he runs them bands up and always he knew he’d be rich “I deserve me a standing ovation, the way I stayed down and stayed dedicated.” Stick to that formula and you can get your cake up too (God-willing). Also from “Paper Route Illuminati”:
Talking To My Scale
I Do This
Ashtray
Nothing to Me
Here We Go
Broccoli & Cheese
South Memphis Rugrats (Remix)
Maxo Kream - Local Joker: The Houston rapper has been through his share of adversity over the past year. I’ll let you do your Googles, but he was able to persevere, hit the stu and cook up some heat. His story telling skills are A1 on this one. He describes his come up, what he had to do for bread and to rise to his current position, dripping in diamonds and pushing Lambo trucks. He gets paid to spit his vocals and he no longer sleeps on sofas, he is in fact, “not a Local Joker”.
