The Hit List: #176 (September 2 - September 8)
StressGods - In The Flesh: New album “Asylum Phase One” This was my first time hearing StressGods and I discovered that they make some certified bops. I really love “ADHD” (which dropped a year ago). Of the album cuts “In The Flesh” was my favorite (can’t beat a funky beat and a catchy melody). Other highlights:
ADHD
Exhaustion
G Herbo - Yup: New Project “Big Swerv” Closing track is a smash. It’s that straight-from-the-soul music. That started from the bottom music. Did he beat the trenches (Yup). Would he do it all again (Yup). Only way from here is Up.
Ye Ali, Tone Stith & rayven tyler - Press Play: New Album “THJ Radio Vol. 1” This opening track sets the tone (pun intended). Grown & Sexy R&B, the crew encourages us to Press Play on the foreplay then go back to shorty’s place (then don’t stop til you get enough like MJ).
Hylan Starr - Outta Reach: New Project “Room To Grow” Love this track and it’s one we don’t get a lot. It’s for the loner lovers. The ones that get involved but let shorty know up front, “I ain’t the one”.
Che Ecru - THIRST: Che dropped this wavy loosie. The way shorty shaking, throwing, and bouncing that ass makes him Thirst. He trying to get to know her better.
Fred again.. & Joy Anonymous - peace u need: New album “ten days” Top Tier EDM. “peace u need” is my MF jam. The beat slaps and the vocals touched me in that special place. Will be bumping this for years to come.
Nippa - F.N.F.: 2-pack from the nigga Nippa. “FNF” is dedicated to those Friends who be Fuckin. He’s down to be friends with benefits but he don’t want her to hand her cookies out to other man dem.
Ranson, Conway The Machine & V Don - Photo Bomb: New Project “Chaos Is My Ladder 2” Boom Bap excellence. Ran is deep in his bag. He sends shots at the opps and even in a crowded room he rolls solo. He’s not comfortable with taking photos. Con is the Turtle Man because he’s sending shells at his opps. He’s stackin Ms and he compares him and Ran to the Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal).
Wale & T Minus - Mission Statement: Wale’s dropping a new project soon and he dropped a 2-pack with this and “Ghetto Speak”. T-Minus produced “Mission Statement” and the vocal loop “Time to be a man” sets the tone from the start. Wale vows to stick to the mission statement. He knows his flow is covered by God and he only needs 90 seconds to deliver this bop.
