The Hit List Week 28: (Nov 1 - Nov 7)
Summer Walker & Ari Lennox - Unloyal: Rising Superstar and LVRN signee Summer Walker released her sophomore album “Still Over It” this week. On it, she channels the emotions of her publicly documented break up and in doing so creates some pretty amazing tracks. On “Unloyal” she’s fed up with dude and says she’s dipping. She knows her worth and is sick of the games and if you wanna label her Unloyal, call her what you want. The soulful Ari Lennox lays the second verse and flexes. She got her own bread and lets mans know that if you think she gon’ be lonely you got her sadly mistaken. Check out all of “Still Over It”, top tier breakup music.
The Weeknd & Post Malone - One Right Now: Two of the biggest names in music collab for a radio-ready, catchy, poppy bop about all the extra bitties they got. Some young lady broke their hearts and they moved on quick. they got one chick coming over and one at the crib right now. Mad threesomes to get over the heartbreak. I’m the same way. I have mad threesomes to get over heartbreak (and by threesome I mean I’ll beat off with my right and then my left… that’s basically a three-way if you think about it…)
Zaytoven ft. Duke Deuce - It’s Nothing: Superproducer and frequent Gucci Mane collaborator, Zaytoven released “My Trap Don’t Close” an album with some upcoming spitters rapping over his beats. On this one, Tennessee artist Duke Deuce gets in his melodic bag “WHAT THE FUCK!!!” and sings the hook. He’s living life carefree because when it comes to anything, It’s Nothing to a boss. He getting money, blow jobs, all types of coupes and it’s regular to Duke Deuce. Other highlights from Zaytoven’s “My Trap Don’t Close”:
Lost In Da Sauce (ft. Juugman)
FreeChoppaRu (ft. Foogiano)
Myself (ft. Luh Soldier)
Blac Youngsta - Anythang: Shout out to the CMG God, Blac Youngsta! It looks like he dropped some pounds, nigga looking all healthy and young and shit and he back at it with another club anthem. This one’s all about shooting legal firearms, making it monsoon in the strip club, luxury vehicles, and having plenty game like a hooper.
Malik Moses ft. Bas - Show Me Something: New Artist Alert! This is a jazzy soulful tune by an artist named Malik Moses (who I’m guessing is from Cali by the G-Perico-esque braids he rocking in the song artwork). He reminds me of Smino but has his own distinct sound. He gets a dime from Dreamville MC Bas and together they create a treat for our ears, asking shawty to show them something because the fellas know actions speak louder than words. Tough Tune.
Terrace Martin ft. James Fauntleroy, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg & Ty Dolla $ign - Drones: Jazz/Hip-Hop Musician Terrace Martin and frequent Kendrick Lamar collaborator released a new project called “DRONES” this week. It features some of his LA Jazz musician buddies like Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper and more. On the title track “Drones” he gets LA’s finest, Snoop, Kung Fu Kenny and Tee-Why-Dolla Sign for a funky, jazzy track about a lil fuck buddy situation and Terrace calls the situationship Drones, as they just fly over to fufill each other needs then peace out. Stimulation and vibration and pushing buttons (in a good way.) Check out these other standouts from “DRONES”:
Turning Poison Into Medicine
Work It Out (ft. Cordae)
This Morning (ft. Arin Ray & Smino)
Reflection (ft. James Fauntleroy)
Griots Of The Crenshaw District (ft. Hit-Boy, Kamasi Washington & Robert Glasper)
Evil Eyes (ft. Malaya & YG)
Sick of Cryin’ (ft. D Smoke & Leon Bridges)
Listen (ft. Kim Burrell & Robert Glasper)
ArrDee - Flowers (Say My Name): This video has 2 million views, the people have spoken, this shit is flames! Arrdee doesn't give girls flowers but he gives them good wood tho. If you looking for monogamy you gotta look elsewhere. I’m all in on the British Drill wave. A lot of UK rappers have been making tracks using the NY Drill loop as a foundation and a lot of the tracks have been super dope. Add in a Destiny’s Child “Say My Name” sample and you got an absolute banger.
Silk Sonic - Smoking Out The Window: New track from the supergroup consisting of Anderson.Paak and Bruno Mars (with assists from Bootsy Collins). The love started out so sweet and now shawty got Andy Paak and Bruno Smoking Out the Window. Shawty got them paying for rent, paying trips, diamonds on her neck and her wrist and they at home beating they meet cuz shawty took the money and ran and all they can do is sing about it like a couple of busters. I feel they pain tho, I be super tricking and I don’t even get the draws like they do, I just be paying for shit and getting hugs in return while they go fuck they real man...
Key Glock - Quarterback: PRE rapper (and the 3rd Memphis artist on this week's list, THEY ON FIRE!) dropped a new project this week, “Yellow Tape 2” presumably the sequel to Yellow Tape 1 although my team had not confirmed this with Young Dolph or Key Glock. Quarterback has Key talking that shit, letting us know he running plays, he the point guard and the Quarterback, he used to be broke but now he up, a 8 figga nigga who stayed independent and won’t take less than 8 figures if a major label wanna do a deal. Man making wise business decisions. Also from “Yellow Tape 2”:
Channel 5
Juicemane
Ambition For Cash
From The Bottom

Gangsta
King Los - Old Crown: King Los is your favorite artist’s favorite artist and is held in many circles as one of the best lyricists in the game. “Old Crown” finds him going in on a trap beat with a slick speedy flow, talking bout all types of shit, God, the universe, Jupiter, Pluto, the sun and the moon, genies, ether, aliens. He leveled up and the new talent rocking his Old Crown. “All this shit is a fucking illusion, don’t believe anything, nothing is real, do whatever the fuck you wanna do, you control your destiny, don’t let anybody tell you what you can’t do, fuck em, die slow to all the bitch ass niggas” TOUGH TUNE!
Aminé - OKWME: Aminé released a new album this week, nice compact project called “TWOPOINTFIVE”. On standout track OKWME Aminé lets his shawty know that if it’s ok with her, it’s ok with him. Go wild shawty. You trying to have an entanglement with August Alsina? Do ya thang girl. He wants her to feel comfortable living her life and he gonna be there for her. Be sure to check out these other tracks from “TWOPOINTFIVE”:

Between The Lines
B-Lovee - My Everything: We all know I’m a sucker for a sample. B Lovee samples The Stylistics classic “You Are Everything” and shit is a bop. With the NY Drill hi-hat, B Lovee describes shooting his shawty with his love gun and beating the pussy up in a Tahoe. I plan on making sweet love to my old lady to this song and by old lady I mean this new blow up doll I just bought. Love is in the air people, cuffing season in full effect.
Fresco Trey - Draft Kings: Fresco Trey references the popular Daily Fantasy/Betting site Draftkings to communicate that one has to take risks in life to make it to the top. Fresco bets on himself, he don’t need nobody else. Gotta roll the dice, gamble a bit to hit big. Don’t play life too safe, like the QB that tries to dink and dunk down the field. You gotta throw the deep ball. And sure, you might throw an interception but you might also throw the pass that becomes the Immaculate Reception.
