The Hit List Week 85: (December 5 - December 11)
Benny The Butcher, Rick Hyde, Elcamino & Heem - We Here: Big BSF Shit! The Black Soprano guys got together to drop this loosie off this week. The beat is jazzy, boom-bap with a smooth hi-hat/snare loop. Rick Hyde been showing that he got beats and bars and Heem continues his impressive run that saw him show out on “Long Live DJ Shay” and he did it again on this track. Tough Tune
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - Come Here: After many delays and a Drake/21 Savage clear out, A Boogie finally dropped his album “Me vs Me” (formerly A Boogie vs. Artist). Dope project, lots of A Boogie getting in his melody bag and some radio ready bops. My favorite track is “Come Here” where he beckons shawty and asks her to throw that ass in a circle. I could definitely hear this one in the strippy. Beat is hypnotic and A Boogie talks about popping adderalls and the pussy farting. Check out “Me vs. Me” and these highlights:
B.R.O. (ft. Roddy Ricch)
Money Conversations
Turn Off The Radio
Ballin
24 Hours (ft. Lil Durk)
Moneybagg Yo - Quickie: Memphis making their weekly appearance. Bagg dropped off this loosie this week where he admits that the pussy has that power and he loves to eat when she fresh out the shower. He talks about connecting with his bae on different levels, their souls intertwining. He loves quickies, dropping the Amiris and going to Pound Town.
Mount Westmore - Ghetto Gutter: 4 Cali Hip-Hop legends (Snoop, Cube, 40 & Too Short) formed like Voltron for the supergroup, Mount Westmore. They dropped their self-titled first album this week. Album is a certified slapper, it’s got club bangers, old school beats, modern production, and jiggle joint anthems. Throughout the whole project, you could tell there was no pressure, it was the homies getting together and having some fun. It was like that movie Wild Hogs but the OG West Coast Rap version. I loved the whole project and “Ghetto Gutter” really stood out to me. It has that synth-y 80’s vibe but with a conga loop that gives it a beat poetry feel. And the bars are top tier of course. You gotta listen to “Mount Westmore” and these standouts:
Motto
Big Subwoofer
I Got Pull
Do My Best
YG & Lil Wayne - Miss My Dawgs: YG & Weezy (B Gang’s finest) dropped this collab this week. It’s dedicated to their fallen homies and Slim 400 (YG’s main man who was murdered earlier this year) was prominently featured in the video. Nipsey also appears as well.
SZA - Love Language: Big Jersey! This the one that had the internet going nuts. SZA dropped her long awaited sophomore album “SOS” this week and it’s all anyone’s talking about. The ladies and the fellas. She really experimented on this one with some Pop-y sounds, some Rock-ish sounds and she really shined on the acoustic tracks. Much of the subject matter was about breakups and exes but I really loved the tracks like “Love Language” where she communicates to her significant other how she’d like to be treated. Communication is key in healthy relationships and this track found Siz trying to make it work. The whole album hits but these are some of my other favs:
SOS
Snooze
Gone Girl
Smoking On My Ex Pack
Nobody Gets Me
Conceited
Special
Shirt
I Hate U
Bfb Da Packman - Hoe Friends: Lunch Crew Shit! BfB blessed us with this bop this week. Club-ready, this one encourages women to embrace their inner hoe. Bend ya knees, poke it out and throw that ass back is what Packman instructs. He uses a bar to express his anger that his father left. He loves cougars, he always keeps that real Za on deck, and he’s not a fan of rubbers. One of the best lines “She work out all day just to come lay up with a fat nigga” Bars!
Anuel AA & Omega - Borracha & Loca: PR in the building. Anuel AA dropped the sequel to last year’s smash album “Las Leyendas Nunca Mueren” (The Legends Never Die). This one abbreviated “LLNM 2”. Dope project with an eclectic mix of sounds including classic Latin vibes and contemporary Hip-Hop production. One of my favorites “Borracha & Loca” has that traditional Latin sound. Island vibes with a recognizable drum loop. Made for the club, people will be dancing to this one all over the world in the next year and beyond. Check out “LLMN 2” and these highlights:
Sufro (with Kodak Back & Ñeno Flow)
Me Siento HP
Contra la Corriente
Monstruo
Sin Ti
Coroné
Lil Pump ft. Ty Dolla $ign - She Know: Talk about a pleasant surprise. I had to double check to make sure this was really Lil Pump. I know he’s been wildin with the Trump stuff and the OnlyFans, but I’ll shoot him some bail because it’s hard to navigate when you become rich & famous as a teenager. I will say this, this track is special. A smooth song dedicated to the ladies. It finds Pump using his singing voice and getting into his melody bag. I was hooked from the beginning, but I was even more surprised when I heard Ty Dolla’s voice. That’s how you know this track is certified. Tyrone wouldn’t hop on no bullshit.
Blxst ft. Larry June - Keep Calling: Two Cali stars dropped this one off. Blxst melodic vocals mesh well with Larry’s Super P, laid back sound. International Blxst talks his shit. He’s ballin all around the world. He’s standing on business that’s flawless (as are his diamonds). That’s why the shawtys keep calling. June is thumbing through blue hundreds while pushing his Bentley Bentayga. He’s getting it around the globe too and he’s focused on growth. That’s why the bitties keep calling him.
Bun B & Statik Selektah ft. Nems & Papoose - Every Hour: Legends Bun B and Statik Selektah dropped their second collab project this week aptly titled “Trillstatik 2”. Album is absolute flames with A1 features top to bottom. My favorite track is the triumphant opening track “Right Back At It”. That one’s been on heavy rotation at the gym. The Nems & Papoose collab “Every Hour” is a masterpiece from the soul sampled beat, to the bars from Nems, Bun & Pap. You gotta go listen to “Trillstatik 2”. 10 tracks, no skips.
Russ - Too Much: Russ & Boi-1da? Yes please! “Universe wrote my song, I’m just ad-libbing” Like Russ says in the song “I ain’t gotta say too much”. Beat crack, bars unmatched. Russ shit talking, promising never to stop, letting us know he turned down 50 Ms for his catalog (he knows his worth and is playing the long game). He’s focused on manifesting.
Kay Flock ft. Dougie B & TG Crippy - Dealership: First off free Kay Flock (if he is indeed not guilty). He (and his team) dropped a new project this week called “The D.O.A. Tape (Care Package”. Lotsa NY Drill slappers throughout. My favorite track is “Dealership” which intertwines a snap loop into the NY Drill foundation. All three of the guys get into they Drill bag, spinning the block, poppin the opps, headshots only (for entertainment purposes only, of course). Check out “The D.O.A. Tape (Care Package)” and these standouts:
Outta Luck (ft. BIG30)
Shake It (with Cardi B & Dougie B ft. Bory300)
Geeked Up (with Gucci Mane)
Make A Movie (ft. Fivio Foreign)
Being Honest (Remix) [ft. G Herbo]

Polo G - My All: It’s Chicago Nigga! You know when there’s a Lyrical Lemonade video the song is some heat. Polo blessed us with this loosie this week. It’s a heartfelt breakup song. He gave his ex his all, but she was ungrateful. Now he don’t trust em, and he don’t want relations, he just tryna fuck somethin. It’s all good because he’s not in his feelings, he’s in his bag. He’s just tryna make a hit and make the club jump. He regrets that he was so deep in love at his young age.
Scorey & Lil Poppa - Goodbye: Nice segue as Polo G’s affiliate, Scorey, dropped a new album this week called “Help Is On The Way”. Dope project with Scorey’s signature Rock/Hip-Hop sound. My favorite track is the collab with Lil Poppa “Goodbye”. The vocal loop in the background really sauces it up. Another great breakup song. The vibes ain’t what they used to be so the guys gotta say Goodbye. Check out “Help Is On the Way” and these highlights:
Get Money (with Polo G)
Oh Oh
Girls Love Rod Wave
Cradle To The Grave
Lil Tecca - Blessing: Thank you Tecca! The young hitmaker dropped this loosie off this week. Upbeat, bouncy, Tecca is the blessing but he’s still looking to get blessed. He knows that money changes some and he don’t want those squares in his circle. He never asked for help, he knows if he focuses, he can do it himself.
Sha Ek - Menace: NY Driller Sha Ek dropped a new project this week called “Return of the Jiggy”. Recently he was banned from performing at Rolling Loud by NYPD (along with some other NY Drill artists) for some bullshit reason like they’re menaces to the city. He addresses this among other things on this record. Other standouts from “Return of the Jiggy”:
Billboard Baby
Return of the Jiggy
Situated
Got Bigger
Boldy James - Foot Prints: Detroit barsmith Boldy James dropped this loosie off this week. Over the soulful, boom-bap beat, Boldy talks about coming up out the mud and how throughout his journey, Jesus walked with him, two sets of footprints in the sand.
Stalley - ESSENTIALS: Former Maybach Music Artist, Stalley, dropped a new project this week called “Somebody Up There Loves Me”. Dope project, my favorite track is “Essentials” where Stalley drops gem after gem as he describes his grind to the top. He’s balling now but he never forgets the struggle. Now he gets to spend his bread on Essentials for him and his lady (watches, cars and the Super Za). Check out “Somebody Up There Loves Me”.
Trae Tha Truth - Feel Like Tha Water: Houston Rapper/Activist Trae That Truth dropped a loosie this week. Haunting beat with keys that gels well with Trae’s deep voice. He talks about his whips, his chinchilla coats, his ice, and throwing cash in the air (presumably for night dancers). He’s stuntin like Cash Money. He’s the wave and he Feel Like Tha Water. He’s Him and he knows it.
Emotional Oranges - Slide All Night: The duo, known collectively as Emotional Orages, released their first independent project this week called “The Juice, Vol. III”. Funky vibes throughout and especially on my favorite track “Slide All Night”. It has a New Jack Swing sound. Vali effortlessly transitions from spitting bars to a melodic delivery. Azad holds it down on the hook with Vali and they go back and forth as each handles a chunk of the core verse. Track and Album is a whole ass vibe. You gotta check out “The Juice, Vol. III”.
Ryan Destiny - How Many: Multi-hyphenate Ryan Destiny dropped this catchy tune this week. Smooth R&B of the traditional variety, RD ain’t seen her dude in a minute. All he do is hang out with the fellas. She’s wondering How Many promises he made (and broke). How Many bitties did he pluck and how many did he love. How Many times did he get his way. She’s promising that mans won’t get his way today. She’s putting her foot down, no more BS.
Icewear Vezzo - Ain’t No Turning Back: Icewear Vezzo dropped a Gangsta Grillz tape with DJ Drama called “Paint The City” and it has probably my two favorite tracks of the whole week. “Nobody” is a certified slapper as is “Ain’t No Turning Back”. Drama & Vezzo did a great job throughout the project of mixing the New Detroit sound with that classic ATL Trap wave. This one’s gonna get lots of play in my ride for years to come. Check out “Paint The City” and these standouts:
RNS
One Time (ft. Jeezy)
No Talkin (ft. Peezy & GT)
Bad Days
Nobody
Taleban Dooda - If It Happen It Happen: Another week, another great find on the Apple Music New Hip-Hop playlist. Taleban Dooda goes in over this beat laced with acoustic strings. He ain’t scared of dying, If It Happen, It Happen. If he sees the opps, he’s hopping out blasting. He letting them hollows fly, letting that iron blast. He tells his homies, they betta hush up if they get jammed up “You have the right to remain silent”. He knows some won’t understand the life he’s leading but they ain’t walked a mile in his shoes.
TG Kommas - Welcome 2 The Trenches: DJ Chose produced this bop for TG Kommas and they both were on their A game. TG Kommas welcomes us to the trenches, where they got glocks with switches and extensions and a plethora of bad bitches. He got his money right and all his niggas moved up. He’s always had swag and his homegirl been working out and eating right and now she got a fat ass. Opps might not wanna come around because he always got the tool tucked.
